Abstract
Small molecule metabolites serve as critical mediators of host-microbiome interactions. High-resolution mass spectrometry-based global metabolomics generates comprehensive datasets that capture the complex landscape of host-microbiome co-metabolism. Proper integration of metabolomic and microbiome data represents a powerful approach for elucidating the biological mechanisms underlying host-microbiome interactions. In this talk, I will discuss our recent research developing integrated computational approaches, analytical methods, and C. elegans-based model systems to help understand microbiome functions and their dynamic interactions with host organisms.
