Donation from JCR Pharma Ltd.
Donation from JCR Pharma Ltd. to the “Tasuku Honjo Volunteer Fund” and the “Cancer Immunotherapy Research Fund” through a third-party allocation of treasury shares.


JCR Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. and Kyoto University signed an agreement under which the company has donated one million private treasury shares of the company through a third-party allocation to Kyoto University. Dividends from the shares will be credited as donations to the Tasuku Honjo Volunteer Fund and the Cancer Immunotherapy Research Fund of Kyoto University.

Kyoto University President Nagahiro Minato thanked Makoto Ashida, Chairman and President of JCR Pharma, for his deep understanding and exceptional support for Kyoto University’s activities and expressed his thanks with a letter of appreciation.

Tasuku Honjo, Director of the Center for Cancer Immunotherapy and Immunobiology (CCII) at the Graduate School of Medicine and Distinguished Professor at the Institute for Advanced Study, thanked Kyoto University for the donation and stated that the donation is part of a new collaboration between the University and industry, and that the University will own shares and receive dividends from those shares, which will provide continuous and stable funding and support for the long-term development of young researchers and cancer immunology scientists.
